Act Now Youth Award

Honouring social commitment

Many social, humanitarian and ecological projects depend on the work of volunteers. Volunteer work by young people – whether in a club, an initiative or a school class – cannot be taken for granted. With the Act Now Youth Award, presented by C&A, in 2015 Sauti Kuu honoured this volunteer initiative for the first time. The award was conceived as a motivation and recognition for all young people who dedicate their efforts to the service of others. Together with well-known celebrities, the Sauti Kuu Foundation and Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin recognised active young people who had dedicated themselves in outstanding ways within their organisations. In the wake of the great success of the first awards ceremony, the Act Now Youth Awards will enter a new round in 2017!

The patron in 2015

Manuel Neuer

National football star Manuel Neuer served as the patron of the awards ceremony in 2015. With the Manuel Neuer Kids Foundation founded by the football star, the Number 1 of the German national team is socially active himself and has set himself the goal of giving socially disadvantaged children in his home country something that he himself enjoyed as a child: opportunities and prospects for his life. In addition to financial support, the aim is to sponsor projects and programmes that promote children’s development potential and talents. This will provide them with new perspectives and inspiration, thus improving their motivation and their sense of self-esteem.
